Interview with Ms. Vole
Reporter: Good morning, Ms. Vole! How are you doing?
Ms. Vole: Very well, when did you get up today, sir?
Reporter: Why?
Ms. Vole: Just wondering, you look like you just got out of bed, that's all.
Reporter: *blush* ok, let's get to these questions ...
#1- Do you enjoy your job?
Ms. Vole: Yes, very.
Reporter: #2- What area do you mentor/teach in sports?
Ms. Vole: I do swim training.
Reporter: Are your students successful?
Ms. Vole: Depends, some rodents take it more seriously than others, and then there are the rodents that only do it for attention.
Reporter: Has a student of yours ever made it to the Olympics?
Ms. Vole: Yes, two sisters, Annabel and Claire. I taught them from the very beginning.
Reporter: What do you mean?
Ms. Vole: Annabel and Claire’s parents signed them up for my program when they were six. I thought they could swim, so I started the first lesson in the big pool. It turned out they were as stiff as wood in the water. They had never been in a pool! So I started with basics and at age 12, they were competing. Last year Claire won silver at the Olympics!
Reporter: Do you have anything to say to young rodents?
Ms. Vole: Never give up when you have a problem.
Reporter: Thanks for your time today, Ms. Vole! We’ll see you at the Olympics!

Pirate Attack on the Capybara Islands!
On May 18, 2020 pirates attacked the Capybara Islands. The attack came at 5 pm and fortunately was not successful😓! We will talk to a witness to hear the full story!
Reporter: Were you at the scene of the pirate attack?
Rat: Yes.
Reporter: What is your name?
Rat: Mr. Pine, I run the Village Inn.
Reporter: Would you mind giving us an interview?
Mr. Pine: Not at all, but let us do it at my Inn.
Reporter: Ok.
….At the Inn….
Reporter: Please describe the attack…
Mr. Pine: Well, I was down at the beach having my hour off when I heard a shout coming from a young hamster in a pink bathing suit.
“Mama, pirates!” she cried. There were pirates, and everyone ran off of the beach except the young hamster who stood mesmerized in place. However, after a few minutes the ship seemed to stop. Then the rodents that had run off the beach (myself included) realized that the ship must have been tangled in the fishing nets. Still, I think those pirates will be coming back soon. I must get back on duty; my break is over.
Reporter: Thank you for your time, and good luck with those pirates. I may be coming back here for another interview.

Lemming School for Learning may shut down!
The Lemming School for Learning may shut down due to funding problems. We will talk to the 4th grade teacher, Ms. Shortfur (see May 16).
Reporter: When you first heard, what was your reaction?
Ms. Shortfur: To be truthful, when Ms. Strongtail (the headmistress) first told me I thought it was a joke, but when she didn’t laugh I knew she wasn’t kidding.
Reporter: What are you doing now?
Ms. Shortfur: I actually don’t know. I think I should leave it up to the parents to tell their children, but it will be hard to stand in front of the class knowing that in maybe a week's time I won’t be standing there.
Reporter: I meant do you have a plan on teaching elsewhere?
Ms. Shortfur: No, and I strongly believe if the parents will cooperate the school can pull through this.
Reporter: Thank you for your time, Ms. Shortfur! Since we will be interviewing a student tomorrow, do you have a recommendation?
Ms. Shortfur: Try Clarissa, Mike, or Cindy (or all if you have time and space).

Mysterious Frog seen in Hamstervill ...
Today in Hamstervill, a frog in a top hat was sighted! What was this frog doing in Hamstervill? There were no meetings today that would have concerned this frog!
Here we interview with a witness:
Reporter: Did you see the mysterious frog?
"Witness": No, ask the innkeeper, she saw him.
Reporter: Thanks!
Reporter: Did you see the mysterious frog?
Innkeeper: Yes.
Reporter: What is your name?
Innkeeper: Mildred Hamsters.
Reporter: Can you describe the frog?
Mildred: Yes, he was wearing a fashionable top hat. He was lime green and had brownish spots (like the picture above).
Reporter: Why do you think people are making a fuss about a frog?
Mildred: Probable because we haven't had a frog visitor since the disagreement between the countries (Hamstington and Froggy world). It's a very important visit!
Reporter: What do you think it means?
Mildred: He could have a meeting with the important government officials, or it's just a friendly visit.
Reporter: Thank you for your time! Let us see if the mystery will ever be solved!😉

Titanic & Mr. Saltwhisker’s grandfather
Exclusive Interview with Grandson
We talk with the grandson (William Saltwisker-Schmid ) of the Titanic survivor Mr. Saltwisker.
Reporter: How did your grandfather come onto the Titanic, and why?
William: My Grandfather came onto the Titanic by sneaking into a barrel of whiskey and almost drowned. The barrel belonged to a rich man who then had the barrel transported into his 1st class bedroom. While the man was out on deck, my Grandfather sneaked out of the barrel and promptly scared the maid! He came aboard the Titanic to meet my Grandmother Hildegard Tea-Leaf in Boston.
Reporter: Wasn’t Hildegard Tea-Leaf an actress?
William: Correct, Hildegard Tea-Leaf was the most popular silent movie actress, and was in every silent movie ever made in 1923 that was filmed in the US.
Reporter: Has your Grandfather ever seen the movie Titanic?
William: Yes, but he could only watch parts of it. It was too sad and realistic. He also thought some parts were too cheesy.
Reporter: Did your Grandfather change after being on the Titanic?
William: Yes, he used to love whiskey with iceberg ice cubes. Now he gets his ice cubes from Montgomery Lake in Wisconsin. He also gave up smoking, since it reminded him of Titanic's tall funnels.
Reporter: How did your Grandfather escape the Titanic?
William: He hid in a ladies purse, and was later discovered in Boston by another maid. It turned out the house the lady was living in was the same house as Hildegard was waiting for him in!

EVENT CANCELED!
The Grand reopening of the History museum in Hamstervill was canceled yesterday. During the final cleaning of the museum there was a crash as a maid reported and then a supporting pillar in the Egyptian wing fell down! Nobody was hurt, but during the confusion, a valuable crown was stolen in the Crowns room! Are these two events linked? Many people think so, but the new head of the museum thinks the following:
“Why would these two events be linked? The Crowns room is at the other end of the museum, there is no way a single gangster could pull that off, and if you think well if two work together? That's absurd, the museum is closed to visitors! This is madness, I think that pesky maid that reported this is behind this crazy story!”
-Mike Carrots, Head of History Museum in Hamstervill
Mike Carrots opinion was heavily criticized, the major of Hamstervill said the following in reply:
“ Everyone at the museum is a suspect, but that does not mean the events are liked or not linked. Nor does it mean that anyone at the museum did it!”
-Mayor of Hamstervill
We will keep you updated on this mystery!

Judge in Volington decision about Cats in Hamstington ...
Yesterday morning the judges in Volington made their decision about letting cats into Hamstington. This is the exact quote:
“All cats from now on must have a travel permit to travel in Hamstington, and will have their records checked for any crimes! Cats currently living here will have their records checked and if clear of crime may continue living here.”
Many rodents are unhappy with the new law since they were hoping to ban all cats from Hamstington. Here are two interviews with rodents who see the situation in completely different ways.
Interview #1
Reporter: How do you view the situation?
Witness: It's not fair, cats can forge a clean record!!!!!
Reporter: Anything else?
Witness: I don’t think that judge is a rodent.
Reporter: What do you mean?
Witness: What I mean is that the judge is fake and a cat!
Reporter: Thank you for your opinion and time.
Interview #2
Reporter: How do you view the situation?
Witness: I’m actually ok with the situation.
Reporter: Why is that your opinion?
Witness: I know a cat from childhood, who was very nice.
Reporter: What do you mean?
Witness: We were very close friends, and Kitty saved me a lot from bullies.
Reporter: Thank you for your opinion and time!
