Hamilton Cast Interviews: Alexander Hamilton/Steve Peets
Hamilton has been on PawWay (Hamstington’s Broadway) since February. The Daily Squeaker has decided to do a series of interviews with some of the top cast members about their time so far. Today, we start with Steve Peets, who plays Alexander Hamilton.
Reporter: Good afternoon, Mr. Peets!
Steve Peets: Please call me Steve.
Reporter: Let’s get straight to the questions. We know that the cast for Hamilton was picked in early 2020. Why do you think you got picked to play Hamilton?
Steve: I’m not sure. I guess I feel I can relate to Hamilton in some ways.
Reporter: Did you ever get to see Hamilton on Broadway?
Steve: Yes, but it was way before PawWay decided to make a rodent version.
Reporter: Was this your first PawWay rap musical?
Steve: Yes. It was quite hard at first; it was a lot to memorize.
Reporter: Do you have a favorite backstage memory so far?
Steve: We were learning the choreography for My Shot and one of the tables collapsed while the actor playing Lafayette was standing on it. Nobody was injured, but the actor managed to stay standing holding his glass of ale up the entire time.
Reporter: Thank you for this interview, Steve! Good luck with tonight’s performance.
